Box Division
(Parcel & Post)
The box division is dedicated to package delivery (FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, UPS, etc.) and to mail procession (U.S.P.S.). Parcel processing is characterized by cross dock material handling, where package size can vary greatly, belt loading in mass is typical, and sortation can be manual or automated via singulation. The postal area consists of three mail parts: bulk mail, tray mail and loose mail; and each area must be handled differently.
Business Division
(Manufacturing Operations)
The business division pertains to materials handling in manufacturing. This involves receipt and storage of materials and components, integrating and processing materials, packaging and storage of finished product, and transfer to distribution vehicles.
Baggage Division
(Airport Operations)
The baggage division relates to airport work and primarily services airlines and airport authorities. However, there is some limited work in bus terminals, rail stations and hotels. Although the baggage group is characterized by singulated baggage of a relatively consistent size and weight, the requirements of these systems are often dictated by the airline of use, and must fit the specifications of their systems.
Building Division
(Warehouse & Distribution)
The building division is associated with the storage and distribution of manufactured goods, as well as the distribution of mail and packages within a facility. Through the use of sortation equipment and automated elevator systems, distribution across a large scale can be accomplished with relative ease.
Bulk Division
(Agriculture & Mining)
The bulk division includes the handling of raw materials from mining operations, and the processing and storage of agricultural products.
